

Eloise was born in Branford, FL. She graduated from Florida State College of Women. She was a teacher, devoted wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a longtime member of St. John's Presbyterian Church and also a member of Presbyterian Women, the Lakeshore Garden Club,the Garden Club of Jacksonville, Bible Study Fellowship, and Rotary Ann. She was the 2001 Philanthropist of the Year at Jacksonville University.
Her survivors include her devoted husband of 67 years, William Wiley Gay of Jacksonville, FL, her Children, John William “Bill” Gay (Louise), Robert Duncan Gay (Carol), Deborah Gay Croft (the late Jerry) and Joy Gay Jones (Vernon), Grandchildren Jona Janene Gay Barber (Michael), Christopher “Chris” J. Croft (Simone), Leasil Jolenne Gay, William “Will” Sheldon Croft (Maria), Brandon Duncan Gay (Deborah), Jessica Lauren Gay, Leah Jones Copham (Brian) and Paul Vernon Jones Jr. (Christin), Great Grandchildren Kyleigh Barber, Morgan Councilman, Jade Croft, Jeremiah Croft, Bonnar Barber, Cecilia Croft, Layla Croft, Wiley Croft, Anna Councilman, Bea Croft, Winnie Croft, Mary June Jones, Brianna Gay, Elizabeth Croft, Garland Grace “GiGi” Jones, Eloise Grace “Ellie Grace” Copham, Kaedyn Gay and Adley Joy Copham, First Cousins Martha Duncan, Janette Duncan and Billie Ogden (Joyce), Sister-in-law Loretta Wierauch (the late Jim), Nephews and Nieces Keith Duncan, Mark Duncan (Joan), Scott Duncan, Pam Kyser (Tracey), William Boree (Debby), Verna Payne (Rick), Shirley Flynn (Robert), Henny Boree (Jelana Edwards), Donnie Boree (Terry) and Richard Wenk (Susan). She also leaves to cherish her memory her Daughter and sister in love Ashley Adams and her Caregivers Tashara Taggart, Karen Hawkins and Peaches Bellamy.
Services to be held at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 4275 Herschel St, Jacksonville, FL 32210, on Saturday, March 18th at 1pm. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage Giddens Funeral Home 729 S. Edgewood Ave. Jacksonville, FL 32205. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Eloise's memory to St. Johns Presbyterian Church or The Alzheimer's Association.
