

Eric Levy passed away on January 2, 2018 surrounded by family in Jacksonville, Florida. Eric was born in Berlin, Germany, on November 30, 1934. His family escaped Germany in 1939 and spent the following nine years in a refugee camp in Shanghai before immigrating to the United States. Eric graduated from Rock Island High School in Illinois and went on to earn his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education at the University of Illinois. He married Jane Farrow in 1959, and the couple had two children, Peter and Anne. Following their divorce, Eric married Susan Ringwald in 1971. Although he started his career in higher education, he moved on to materials management in private industry in Dallas and then Pasadena, California. Eric and Susan retired to Asheville, North Carolina before moving full-time to Florida. Eric loved following the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his main hobby was playing bridge, becoming a Life Master and earning an impressive 4000+ masterpoints. His gentle spirit, quick wit, and warmth will be greatly missed by those he touched.
Eric is survived by his wife, Susan, his son Peter (Kim), daughter Anne (Richard), step-daughters Linde Teel and Peggy Ede (Stephen), and grandchildren Rachel and Evan Levy, and step-grandchildren Tiffany, Benjamin, Amanda, Alex, and Candace.

Eric will be laid to rest at a private graveside ceremony with Rabbi Jonathan Lubliner officiating at New Center Cemetery in Jacksonville on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
