

Mr. Eugene E. Burns - SAVANNAH - On May 20, 2016, the gates of Heaven opened and the Lord called his servant, Eugene E. Burns Jr., from his earthly life to his Heavenly home of rest. Mr. Burns was born on July 10, 1949 in Savannah, Georgia, one of six children born to Marie Burns and Eugene E. Burns Sr. Eight stepbrothers and stepsisters were also born to his father and his stepmother, Rosa Lee Burns.
Mr. Burns was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Sylvester, Nathaniel, Exadene, and Rosa Lee, and stepbrother Floyd. He leaves to cherish his memories one brother, Norman Burns, who he grew up with; and stepbrothers and stepsisters Grace, James, Cynthia, Ted, Michelle, Purcell, Darnell, and Ricky. He also leaves behind two daughters who he loved, Diane I. Allison-Herbert and Ronnett Colonel-Baxter; his son; Eugene K. Burns III; three loving granddaughters, Chanel Herbert, De’Asia Colonel-Cooper, and Connie Colonel; six grandsons, Wilton Herbert Jr., Trey Allison, Eugene T. Burns IV, Iraee Joe Colonel, Nikeem Burns, and Shaquille Colonel; nine great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 510 Stephenson Ave., Savannah, Georgia, on Sunday June 5, 2016 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. His burial service will be conducted at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, Florida on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 2:30 p.m.
