Sympathies to the Perrin family. I had the pleasure of working with Dutch at the KPFD for many years. He was one of the few good guys.

Dear Gisela and family,
The passing of Dutch saddens his many friends in the Rochester, Greece, and old Kodak circle of firefighter friends. Word of his death spread last evening while I was among a NGFD exempt party in Hilton. Immediately the "Dutch stories" began to be told. Gisela, it has been a long time since we have seen you and Dutch, but fond memories will never fade. I could write a book about our many years working together at Kodak and in the town of Greece at fires and meetings. He agreed to be in my wedding. He insisted on driving my new/old fire truck back from North Brookfield, NY in 1988, not an easy task, but he pulled it off with a smile all the way. At Kodak FD we'd get into some pretty rough and dangerous situations, but Dutch took them in stride. I remember his love for NASCAR, especially Talladega and Pocano raceways. Every February he would take vacation for Daytona. Indeed he was quite a  guy! You will be in our thoughts and prayers as you continue on without your beloved Dutch. It won't be easy, but take comfort knowing that all your old friends up here in the snow and cold are keeping you in our prayers. 
Dutch, rest easy old pal until we meet again.

My deepest condolences to the Perrin family. Dutch was a wonderful man with a charismatic personality that prevailed all the years I worked with him at Kodak.. There was a magnificent wisdom in Dutch. Caring, sharing & a helping hand was Dutch's signature. He strived to communicate with people at the deepest human level.
Those who knew Dutch in his youth, and those who knew him a lifetime later - all remember his gentle instincts, and an enthusiastic magnetism that drew others to him.
I never knew Dutch to have a shallow relationship There was a kindness, simplicity and goodness of character that marked his outstanding attributes.
Dutch's strength was best expressed through the remarkable quality of his relationship with people - his ability to make all human encounters, however brief, feel so special, so personal.
And as we close the final chapter of Dutch's life here on Earth, I'd like to say: "Dutch, we are here to mourn, but also to give thanks to celebrate you and your life - filled with a rich sense of love and friendship." 
We honor your grace, your companionship, and above all, the great love you gave to us all. Let that be a part of your legacy.

Dutch, you will be deeply missed by your KPFD family. I for one will always feel honored to have worked with you on Engine 5 at the Park.  Will always remember you complimenting my wife on the banana cream pies she would send in to the Firehouse.  And the evenings we would sit at Charlie Vella's and enjoy a few.  May you Rest In Peace, my friend.  You have answered your last alarm...

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one. One day many will have the opportunity to live again. May the hope of everlasting life sustain and comfort you during this difficult time. John 17:3
