Francis Daoud Yazdiya

Francis Daoud Yazdiya, 92, of Jacksonville, Florida went home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2018. He was born on April Fools Day 4/1/1926 in Mosul, Iraq and moved to the United States in the 1940's with his mother, brother, and sister. He then returned to Iraq in 1964 to marry his loving wife of 55 years, Rajah Anton. Together, they returned to Florida where they settled and enjoyed a wonderful life together. Francis and his brother, Albert, built a successful grocery business together before his retirement at the age of 80. He was a long time member of San Jose Catholic Church. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, Daoud Yazdiya and Hyatt Yazdiya, his sister Selma, and his brother Albert. He is survived by his wife Rajah Yazdiya and their 4 children: John (Lisa) Yazdiya, Anthony (Grace) Yazdiya, Vivian (Martin) Schultz, Christopher (Nancy) Yazdiya. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Rachel (Robert) Wolford, Joshua, Abigail, Annabelle, Logan and Sarah Yazdiya, and Briana and Noelle Schultz. Visitation will be held Wednesday starting at 7:00pm at San Jose Catholic Church located at 3619 Toledo Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32217. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00am at San Jose Catholic Church. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Church cemetery located at 4124 Loretto Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32223.
