

Frank Howard Spratlin, Jr., a beloved family member, a compassionate professional Social Worker, and a dedicated Christian church member passed away on February 22, 2024 in Jacksonville, FL at the age of 77. He was born on the Fourth of July in 1946.
Frank was a Vietnam veteran, having served two years in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He dedicated 46 years of his life as a Social Worker, 27 of those years as a Human Services Counselor III at the Northeast Florida State Hospital in Macclenny, FL.
Frank was known for dedication and compassion in serving his clients and treating co-workers like family. He provided clinical supervision to staff who were pursuing licenses as clinical social workers and mental health counselors. Frank was such a caring, compassionate person, treating everyone he met with dignity and respect.
He graduated from Forrest High School in Jacksonville. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Jacksonville University in 1972, received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Florida State University in 1980, and another Masters Degree in Health Services from the University of North Florida in 1986. He later earned his License in Clinical Social Work in 1996.
Frank is survived by his brother, Harry Spratlin (Faith), niece, Monica Eberhardt (Charles & Adam), nephew John, (Anna, Eliza and Wells). He was preceded in death by his parents, Billie & Frank Spratlin, Sr. and grand nephew, Sawyer Eberhardt.
Frank had a lifelong habit of learning and continuing education in his chosen field, and was known for his great attitude and listening skills.
Frank's hobbies included being a sports enthusiast, especially Jaguars and FSU football. He was a patient fisherman and an avid gun collector who enjoyed target shooting.
His church home was Orange Park First Baptist Church.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 1st beginning at 1 pm, followed by a service at 2 pm at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207.
