Gail VanLooven McDonald Foster, age 71, lost her courageous 18 month battle with cancer on October 7, 2010. This was her third round with this awful disease spanning nearly 30 years. Let it never be said, she wasn’t tough. She will leave a void in our family that we will never be able to fill, God bless you sweet Gail, we will always cherish our memories. Gail was first and foremost a loving wife and mother; they were her first priorities and yet through the years had many interests. She was involved in the political arena after her future husband became a Georgia state senator; she was an office manager for a top insurance agency in Savannah. After moving back home to Jacksonville, Gail and Roy together became one of the top selling husband/wife selling teams for Remax. Gail loved to travel as her and Roy visited all over the world although their favorite destination was Alaska. Gail also enjoyed entertaining and was always happy to have friends and family come into their home. Her family always referred to her as the “hostess with the mostest”. Quite simply, she enjoyed life. She is survived by her husband of 31 years her “habeebe” Roy G. Foster, children; Jim McDonald (Jenny), Kim Smith (Jerry), Michael McDonald (Vanessa), step-children; Roy III (DeeDee), Terri (Tate), Hayes (Susan), Parkie (David) brothers; Jim VanLooven (Joanne), Gary VanLooven (Julie), cherished sisters; Jeanne Safar and Donna Branyon, grandchildren; Taylor, Jake, Sydney, Lili, Aidan, step grandchildren, Jennifer, Zachry, Leigh, Benjamin, Mollie, Katie, John, William, as well as her adopted daughter Kathie Kearney.
