George Brady, 83, passed away on November 19, 2014. Mr. Brady is survived by his wife of 39 years, Doris. He often said he was “married to the best wife and nurse in the world”, whom he thanks dearly.
Mr. Brady retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. After his military career, he was a Captain for two different commercial airlines, Southeast and Midway, as well as Managing a hotel.
Mr. Brady is preceded in death by his sister, Florence Lacey and brother, R.H. Brady. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, George Brady Jr. (Debra) and Marlin Bruce Brady (Terri); three daughters, Marion Bonita Blackburn, Charlotte Dale Powell, and Michelle Lynn Brady; sister-in-law, Jeri; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at The Oaklawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, November 24, 2014 at The Oaklawn Chapel. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
