George was educated in New York City, graduated from the Bronx High School of Science and the City College of New York with a B.S. in Computer Science. He spent most of his career as a systems analyst. His love of technology extended into his everyday life. He applied technology wherever he could, including to arrange music and create personal music videos.
George’s passion for music became apparent from the moment he picked up an accordion as a young boy. He taught himself to play the vibraphone and by age 18, he was playing professionally. His love for music and performing culminated in George joining a salsa band. He became co-owner of a band that performed salsa and contemporary Latin music in Florida and nearby states. George played the keyboards and was a vocalist.
George was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was devoted to his wife of 46 years, Judith. They shared a love of travel and supported one another in pursuing their varied careers and interests. He was extremely proud of Judith’s accomplishments.
His love of family included his sisters Janice and Kathy, his brothers-in-law Libby, Max, Manny and Eudes and spouses as well as many nieces, nephews and grandnephews including Dana, Jasmine, Nicole, Elsie, Eudes Jr., Eumi, Eumi Jr, Samuel, Anthony, Leo and Rosalia.
Another great joy for George was the time he spent with his many friends engaged in conversations, working on crossword puzzles, playing music, and sharing technical advice.
A loved one lives on as long as he is remembered. We will never forget you George.
A Celebration of George's Life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 11th, in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
