

Georgia Lee Childress, 80, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on October 28, 1944, in Stamping Ground, Kentucky, Georgia brought sweetness, joy, and a spark of fun into every room she entered.
She had a kind heart, a playful spirit, and a warm smile that made others feel instantly at ease. Georgia loved gardening, reading, and painting—pastimes that reflected her deep appreciation for beauty, creativity, and quiet moments. Her loyal dog and constant companion, Daisy, was always by her side and brought her great comfort and joy.
Whether tending to her flowers, curled up with a good book, or creating art with her hands, Georgia did everything with grace, warmth, and love. Her sense of humor, gentle presence, and deep care for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Georgia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Childress; her cherished son, Ace Foley; her parents, George and Alice Wagner; and her siblings, Patty Griffin, Bobby Wagner, and Gene Wagner.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Gina Lundgren, who was her greatest support and loving companion throughout her life. Georgia also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Kyle Lundgren and Vivian Lundgren; her sisters, Linda Foley, Bonnie Hilton (Calvin), and Tammie McKay; her stepdaughter, Shelly Lee; and a beloved step-grandson, Jason, and step-great-granddaughter, Allison.
A visitation for Georgia will be held Monday, May 19, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at San Jose Baptist Church, 6140 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32217. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will follow from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Arlington Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
