Ginger Atkinson was born December 13, 1936 to Annie Pearl and Austin Brumby in Cairo, Georgia. She passed away July 18, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. She was retired from AT&T and proudly, a member of the CWA.
Ginger will be lovingly remembered by her children, Donna Sue Culpepper (Dana), John Donald Atkinson Jr. (Theresa), and Cynthia Anne Wiltse (Bruce), her grandchildren, David L. Cole Jr., Jason Avera (Christina), Jarred Avera, and Jeffery Avera, and her great grandchildren, Peyton Cole, Reagan Cole, Ella May Love Avera, and Jarred Avera Jr. She also leaves to cherish her memory her brothers Julian Brumby (Margaret), Howard Macon and Wayne Macon, numerous nieces and nephews, and her furry companion, Buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Donald Atkinson, her son, Terry Donald Atkinson and her siblings, Willel Brumby, Winnie Pearl Brumby, Pete Brumby, Paul Brumby, Gloria Macon, Dennis Macon, and Mike Macon.
The family will receive guests for a Celebration of her Life and Heavenly Promotion on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at her daughter’s home, 5992 Heckscher Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32226. All who knew Mrs. Ginger Atkinson and her children are encouraged to attend.
