Gloria Gail Hughes

Gloria was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 1, 1947 to Ewell and Louise Carter. She graduated from Dupont High School in 1965. She married Sam Hughes on July 30, 1965. She was a beloved mom, grandma (Gam), and great grandma.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Hughes, her parents Ewell and Louise Carter, and her siblings-Robert Carter, Vonnie Freel, Joyce Smith, and Sharon Painter.

Gloria is survived by her two daughters, Vicki Gable (David) and Jan McDonald (Phillip). She has five grandchildren-Morgan Hamilton (Braxton), Jensen Jones (Blake), Kirstin Badalamento (Justin), Justin Gable (Katie), and Dylan McDonald (Bridgette). She has seven great grandchildren-Chayten, Everly, Jovie, Abbijane, Tyce, Evan and Sam. She is also survived by one sister, Wynette Nelson (Scott), and lots of nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Gloria will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
