Goetz "Gus" Wolfgang Roese

Gus served in the Army National Guard Special Forces (Green Beret) 82nd Airborne Division. He earned a BA degree from Jacksonville University in 1968. Gus was an entrepreneur and owned several businesses including Game Zone, Dunkin Donuts and Countertop Concepts. He had a lifelong passion for Porsches and was a member of the Porsche Club of America. He also enjoyed target shooting and was a member of the FOP Lodge #113, St. Augustine, FL. Gus enjoyed fishing, boating, running and traveling. Above all, he cherished every moment with his family.

Gus was preceded in death by his parents: Goetz H. Roese and Johanna H. Roese.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marti; son Hans (Isabelle) Roese; daughter Elke (Andres) Lacayo; grandsons Lukas and Logan Roese; granddaughters Elise and Anna Lacayo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.

A celebration of life for Gus will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
