Grace Price Lockwood

Lockwood, Grace Price, 90, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2021 surrounded by her family. She is survived by daughter Julie Alexander (Tyrone) and son, Randy Lockwood; grandsons, Tyler Alexander (Andrea Archer), Troy Alexander (Stephanie), Trad Alexander (Alix), Luke Lockwood (Peyton King), Jake Lockwood (Joanna); granddaughter, Holly Lockwood Wozniak (Matt); great-grandsons Cooper Wozniak, Noah Barman, Jack Alexander and Tristin Archer; great-granddaughters Sophia Barman, Claire Alexander, Charlie Alexander, and Raven Archer; nephews, Gary Lockwood (Keith Reed), Tim Lockwood (Trudy), Lance Lockwood (Jamie) Bo Lockwood; and niece Robbie Lockwood Rogers (Bob). Grace is preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack R. Lockwood Sr; Daughter Nancy Lockwood Forbes; son-in-law Michael Forbes; sisters-in-law Frances Lockwood and Theresa Howie; and brother-in-law Samuel Howie.

Grace was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania but lived most of her life in the Jacksonville area. She was a graduate of Landon High School where she was a majorette and met the love of her life, Jack. Grace was devoted to her family leaving them with happy memories to last a lifetime. She also loved her friends, playing bridge, lake life and animals. Together with Jack she owned a number of Jacksonville businesses including Jax Drugs, Lockwood Drugs, and Homed Pharmacy.

If you knew Grace, you knew what it felt to be surrounded by love and kindness. While her external beauty was apparent to all, it paled in comparison to her inner beauty. Her heart and arms were always open and she was known to bring in a stray or two (animal or human). Her entire family will miss her dearly but we are overjoyed that she is hand-in-hand with her true love again.

There will be a graveside service Friday, April 9th, at 11:00 at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville FL 32207. A private celebration of life for friends and family will be held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers please consider making a memorial donation to Community Hospice.
