Gracie McCorvey Rifa

RIFA – Gracie McCorvey Rifa, 35, passed away on April 22, 2011. This Earth lost a precious Angel on Friday, April 22, 2011 to join her Heavenly Father. Jaime, her beloved husband; Alexander, her son; and Vanessa, her daughter, lost their greatest gift. She also leaves to grieve for our loss, but her Eternal gain, her parents, Horace Eugene and Kendra McCorvey, mother-in-law, Nilda M. Rifa; brothers, Harvard Eugene (Deborah), James Stephen (Kathy) McCorvey, sister-in-law, Nilda R. Sparks (Marion), brother-in-law, Ruben L. Rifa (Terri); 10 nieces & nephews; uncle, John H. McCorvey, Sr (Nancy) and cousins, John H. McCorvey, Jr, Ashley J. Myers; adoring 2nd cousin, Marcia Fern Bevis, and many loving friends.

Gracie was a gift from God on March 30, 1976 and had an important call and duty to do for her Father in Heaven. She was always caring and sensitive to others, never judging, but loving them as themselves. She knew God was calling her for an especially important duty in Heaven and all her life, she sensed the urgency to make time for her family and enjoy seeing and experiencing as much of God’s beauty on Earth while she could, sensing a need to make as many memories for her family, while here, as possible. Gracie attended Trinity Christian Academy, Graduated from University Christian School, attended Liberty University and FCCJ, and subsequently obtained her Cosmetology degree. She trained under some of the area’s leading stylists, eventually practicing in the Julington Creek area, where her talents where widely known.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 26th in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 27th in Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 SR 13, Fruit Cove 32259 with Rev. Timothy D. Maynard as Officiant. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 800 Hammond Boulevard Jacksonville, FL 32221.
