Graham "Gary" Barley

BARLEY – Graham “Gary” Barley, Jr, 78, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 after battling a long illness . He was born in Jacksonville, FL on August 18, 1941 to Graham Barley and Lois Atter. Gary is a lifelong resident of Jacksonville. Gary married the love of his life, Joyce Azar on September 8, 1962 and together they raised three children. Gary’s entire life was centered around his family, making sure they were safe and happy, and he succeeded with a reliable and consistent approach to life. He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Joyce; daughter Sheri and sons David and Steven (Erin); brothers Phil Atter (Jill) and Mike Atter (Helen), sisters-in-law Joanne Dickens, Sandra Azar, Michelle Azar and grandchildren David, Ryan, Tristan and Ian. He is predeceased by his father, Graham Barley, and parents Philip “Flip” Atter and Lois Atter and brother, Ronald Barley. Services will be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gary can be made to the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (gifts.mdanderson.org), St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org/donate), or UF Health (giving.ufhealth.org). A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 10:00 am at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery 4801 San Jose Blvd. Funeral arrangements handled by Corey-Kerlin, 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32211
