

FINCH: Gregory Lawson Finch, 47, passed away on July 8, 2014, at his home in Jacksonville, FL due to complications of pneumonia. Greg left us to join his beloved mother in heaven who passed away in 2011. Greg was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and attended Rockledge High School. He moved to Brevard County as a young child where his father worked as a rocket engineer at Kennedy Space Center. Greg followed his passion for the culinary arts and became a chef. He spent most of his life in the Brevard County area before recently moving to Jacksonville, FL following the death of his mother to be closer to family. Greg enjoyed sports, fishing, listening to music and spending time with his friends and family. He especially enjoyed his nightly conversations with his dear grandmother. Greg also enjoyed cheering on his brother-in-law's Bolles baseball team and his nephews and niece's many accomplishments. He was also a huge fan of the University of Alabama football team!
Greg is preceded in death by his mother, Maureen Catherine Finch Childress, his grandfather, William Reynolds II (Granddaddy Long Legs) and uncle, Robert Martin. Greg is survived by his father, Dr. George Finch (Fleming Island, FL), his sisters and brothers in law, Laura and Michael Boswell (Jacksonville, FL), Heather Finch-Stankard and Charles Stankard, M.D. (Fleming Island, FL), Nephews, Bo and Cody Boswell, Matthew, Samuel and William Stankard, Nieces, Lauren-Marie Boswell and Sarah Stankard, Grandmother, Lorraine Reynolds (Blue Ridge, GA), Aunt, Maryanne Martin (Blue Ridge, GA), cousins, Christopher and Alison Martin and many other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at The Oaklawn Chapel, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Nemours Jacksonville Neurology/Lauren's Story at Nemours Fund for Children, 10140 Centurion Pkwy. N.
