

Gwen's passion was to live a life that would give glory and honor to the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:31. She, for approximately 50 years, was a dedicated member of Mandarin Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL where she spent many of those years teaching a ladies Sunday School class, always sacrificially looking out for and loving others. Gwen's love set the example that modeled Christ to her husband, children, and grandchildren. As a mother, she was always personally involved in her children's school life in extra curricular activities and served as an officer in PTA, Band Parents Association, Home Room mother and as a team parent. Always leading, always volunteering as an integral part of her children's lives. Gwen made many wonderful friends along her journey through Kirby Smith Junior High and Andrew Jackson Senior High and was especially proud that her three children followed the same path.
Gwen was the loving and dedicated wife of Edward Joseph Pollick, who worked very hard to make sure she could always be available for Kingdom work, her children, and especially the marginalized in their community. Together they provided a welcoming, safe, fun and loving home always sacrificing for their three children. Gwen was the "big sister" to her brothers George and Lamar whom she always adored. Gwen's dreams of becoming a grandmother was even sweeter than she expected and additionally she had the blessing of experiencing all the births of her great grandchildren. Her happiest days were being completely together as a family. Gwen's love extended to her children's spouses whom she loved as her own.
Gwen was predeceased by her husband Edward Joseph Pollick of over 65 years, her first borne child Julia Anne Davidson, her mother Loye Richardson Pate, father George Clifton Richardson, and two brothers George and Lamar Richardson, her grandmother Arrie Ruis Williams, grandfather J. B. Williams and many loving cousins, aunts and uncles.
Gwen's surviving family members are daughter Brenda Loye Davis (Mitch), son Edward Joseph Pollick, Jr. (Beth), her six grandchildren Douglas Mitchell Davis, Jr.(Angela), Stacey Davidson Curtis (Ryan), Davi Davidson, Joseph Bradford Davis (Jennifer), Penny Pollick Turner (Todd) and Edward Joseph Pollick, III (Sarah). Surviving great grandchildren are Amelia Nichole Curtis, Joseph Bradford Davis, Jr., Ryan “Colby “ Curtis, Jr, Katherine-Anne Davis, Haden Edward Davidson, Savannah Lynn Davis, Julia Anne Curtis, Julia Loye Davis, Hunter Thomas Davidson, Madeline Elizabeth Turner, Douglas Mitchell Davis III, Josephine Lucille Turner, Frances Leigh Davis, Edward Joseph Pollick, IV, Gracie Marie Davidson, Benjamin Andrew Pollick, and Caroline Abigail Pollick.
A visitation for Gwendolyn will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mandarin Baptist Church, 11244 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. A funeral service will occur at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will occur Monday, November 21, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Mandarin Cemetery, Mandarin Road, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
