

Harley Clifton Parrish, 59, of Jacksonville, went to be with Jesus on October 25, 2011, passing away at the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring Hospice. Harley was born on March 4, 1952 in Palatka, FL to the late Thomas and Addie (Durden) Parrish. Harley worked as the Sound Engineer for the Quick Draw and Strange Brew Bands, was the Manager for Mandarin Carpets, and was a Commercial and Industrial Electrician. Harley was an avid Florida Gator fan, and he enjoyed fishing, boating, and surfing. He was a member of the Julington Creek Prop Club, and volunteered as a Marshall for the Gator Bowl Parade. Harley is survived by his loving spouse, Catherine Powell. Additional survivors include his 3 sons, Mark (Heather), Michael, and James (Megan) Parrish; his 2 sisters, Nancy (Dan) Eubank; and Carolyn (Bobby) Brantley; his brother, George Parrish; his granddaughter, Doriane Eleanor Parrish; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011 from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm, with Memorial Services starting at 3:00 pm in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Harley to the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL.
