
Hazel Dedmon, 82, passed away on Thursday April 29, 2010. Mrs. Dedmon was born in Jacksonville on August 4, 1927 to James L. and Mattie Calhoun Williams. She was a life long resident a devout Catholic and long time member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Mrs. Dedmon worked for many years in the food and beverage industry and then for many years with Roux Laboratories from where she retired. She enjoyed doing work for Catholic Charities, was very social and enjoyed being around people, helping others less fortunate and loved laughing with her family and friends. She was a very devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loved being with her family. She was preceded in death her husband of over 40 years, Rufus James Dedmon in 1989.Survivors include 3 daughters, Dotty Dedmon (Jimmy), Roxanne Balkovic and Debra Pittman-Dickinson (Terry); a son, David Wayne Bowden; Grandchildren, Franky Dedmon, Sr., Michael Ganey, Adam Balkovic and Tara Balkovic; a great grandson, Frank Jimmy Dedmon, Jr. and other loving relatives and friends. She also survived by 4 stepchildren and numerous grandchildren and great-granchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd.. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of the Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday May 5, 2010 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 4129 Broward Rd. with Fr.
