

Helen graduated from E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg, Virginia. In her early career, she worked for Reynolds Aluminum in Richmond, Virginia as a secretary. It was in Richmond that she met her husband, Charles Hatton Liphart, Jr. at a church dance. Helen and Hatton were married for 69 years. Helen supported her family as a homemaker and worked in the family business (Charles H. Liphart & Son) as the bookkeeper for many years.
She was a Christian in more than just name. She lived out her faith as a kind, loving and generous person. She was a member of Southside United Methodist Church. Over the years she was involved as Council on Ministries Chair, taught children’s Sunday School, and was a member of the United Methodist Women (Mary Martha Circle). She was a member of the Jean Ribaut Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution since 1996, and past president of the Love Grove Elementary Parent Teacher Association.
She is predeceased by her parents George Darious Jackson and Lucille Ewers Jackson; and her daughter Lucy Jean Liphart.
She is survived by her husband, Hatton; her 3 sons Cary H. Liphart (Lyn) of Punta Gorda, Florida; Robert D. Liphart (Charlotte Fairchild) of Hiram, Georgia; Alan J. Liphart (Jodi) of St. Augustine, Florida; her grandchildren Christopher C. Liphart of Atlanta, Georgia; Jennifer L. Liphart of Punta Gorda, Florida; Jalen K. Atkinson (Bryan) of Green Cove Springs, Florida; Kayci A. Liphart of Jacksonville, Florida; great grandchildren Liam, Logan, Ashton and Chadan; sister Margaret Patterson of Newport News, Virginia;
nephews Stuart Patterson (Rubette), Darry Patterson (Laurie), Brydon Jackson (Tracy), Tony Gunn (Emily Parker), and niece, Margaret Gunn Jones (Bobby).
The Liphart family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks for the love and care given by the teams of care givers from Right at Home, Community Hospice and Camellia at Deerwood.
