Henry Lee Ferguson Jr.

Henry served our country in the United State Marine Corps from 1961-1966 as a Tank Commander. Henry married his first love, Portia Harris, in 1963. Together, they celebrated 53 years of marriage this past April.

Henry began working as an electrician and was a member of IBEW Local 177. He was a very hard worker and a steady provider for his family. He also enjoyed traveling, never hesitated to help others and always looked forward to spending time with his family. He was an active member of Biltmore Baptist Church.

Henry is survived by his devoted wife Portia (Harris) Ferguson, his two daughters Kimberly (Ferguson) Jones, her husband Keith and Tonia (Ferguson) Vickers, her husband Timothy, 6 grandsons, 2 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons. Henry also leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Kenneth Burnsed and his wife Barbara.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2016, from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood, 729 Edgewood Ave. South, Jacksonville FL 32205. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 am at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood, with burial to follow at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville FL 32205.
