Ignazio Teresi

Ignazio Teresi, 71, of Saint Johns, passed away on March 28, 2011 at the Baptist Medical Center South. Ignazio was born on February 5, 1940 in Palermo, Sicily to the late Fillipo and Gaetana (Accardi) Teresi. He moved to America on November 12, 1966, coming from Sicily to New Jersey. He then moved to Jacksonville in 1985. Ignazio was the Co-Owner of Vito’s Italian Restaurant, and he was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Giuseppa Teresi, and together they were blessed with their 7 children, Giulio Teresi; Gaetana Graham, Rosalia Teresi, Enza Huff, Maria Teresi, Silvana Fosdick, and Angela Trudeau; Additional survivors include his brothers, Vincent, Pietro, & Tony Teresi; his sisters, Enza Coraci, Josephine Geraci, and Maria Tucker; his 21 grandchildren; and his 33 great-grandchildren. Ignazio was preceded in death by his sister, Rosalia DiGrazia. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 1st in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 2nd in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11730 Old St. Augustine Rd., Jacksonville with Fr. Daniel Cody as Celebrant, followed by entombment in Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville.
