

Jack Dreher, 89, passed away on January 5, 2013. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late David and Helen Rosner Dreher, he lived in Jacksonville for the last 60 years. Jack was an intellectually curious, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend with a passion for music, languages, and culture and a quick-witted sense of humor that he loved to share. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Debora Dreher as well as his son, Joel Dreher (Jody); daughter, Diane Dreher (Larry Amsel); grandchildren, Noah, David, and Danielle. Jack was a veteran of the US Army Corps of Engineers and served in the Pacific in WWII.He was actively engaged in the community as a business owner and a long-time board member of the Jewish Community Alliance. He was also a long-standing member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center. The Funeral Service will be held at noon on Monday (today), January 7, 2013 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd, followed by interment in New Center Cemetery (located in Evergreen Cemetery at 43rd & Liberty Streets). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s name to the Jacksonville Community Alliance (JCA) at www.jcajax.org, the Jacksonville Symphony at www.jaxsymphony.org, River Garden or Community Hospice.
