We are here to celebrate the life of Jacques Joseph Perron 88, born November 16, 1936, and peacefully passed away on October 8, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was surrounded by his family. He was born in Montreal, Canada to Herve and Marie Alice Perron. He married Pierrette Grenier in 1961, had their first son, Alain, in 1962 then moved to the United States so he could pursue a career in computer hardware architecture. Jacques and Pierrette welcomed daughter, Sylvie in 1965, and son, Daniel in 1968. He started his career at General Electric, subsequently IBM, then started his own business, selling his computer products to the NSA, and other security companies.
He is remembered for his passion, intellect, commitment and love for his family. He will also be fondly remembered for his blue eyes, dimples, warm hands, and bear hugs, sometimes softer when it was needed.
He was a loving and caring man that would not hesitate to educate his grandchildren on the key factors in life and the pursuit of happiness. He loved to share his passion of sailing with his family by planning excursions for his family on his sailboat, in Annapolis, MD, and Longboat Key, FL, where he eventually retired with Pierrette. He also found happiness taking his 1995 Miata for a spin and shared that joy with all that rode beside him. All his teachings and life lessons will be dearly missed, but they will never be forgotten.
He was an outgoing and amazing man. Every time you see him just his smile alone could make you have the most heart-warming feeling. Every visit he would always greet you with the “hello dear”. He was not just a dad and a grandfather, he was your best friend and someone that really cared about what was happening in your life, how you felt, and if you needed to talk. He was a caring and loving man that will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Pierrette Perron; son, Alain Perron (Melissa); daughter, Sylvie Perron; son, Daniel Perron (Lori); grandchildren, Sierra Perron (Ashley), Taylor Harvey, Michael Perron (Cassie), James Perron (Irene), Katelynn Perron (Tyler Blanton), Avery Perron (Jaida), Ryan Perron (Morgan), Samantha Perron and Jessica Smith; and great-grandchildren Braden, Hunter, Olivia, Logan, Devan, Nolan, Ethan, Emelia, Sedona, Averi, and Aubrey.
A visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, located at 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223, on October 16, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
