James "Tex" Carter Bentley Jr.

He is predeceased in death by his parents Billie Joyce Brashshear and James Bentley . As well as siblings Matt Matthews, and Martha Williams. His is survived by his sister, Terry Jones, and brother, Paul Matthews (Virginia). He leaves wife, Louisa, and his daughters, Celeste Bentley (Travis), Aurelie Reis, and MaryBeth Priest (Jeremy). As well as “Dooley daughter”, Cindy Dooley (Paul). Step children, Everett Camp, Layn Alderson (James), and Wesley Camp (Emily). His Grandchildren include Vivian Serrano, Evan Serrano, Chase Reis, Lauren Reis, Madeleine Priest, Miles Priest, Tristan Alderson, Logan Alderson, and Wyatt Camp.

Jimmy (Tex) loved to fish, and had many stories about fishing with his cherished friend, Dooley. He loved nature, and spent time walking in the mountains, and watching hummingbirds with his wife, Lou.

He was a member of Hall Plantation hunting club for almost 50 years, and considered the members as his surrogate family for his many bachelor years.

Jimmy loved to learn, to read, and to write. He had a rare intelligence, a keen sense of humor, and treated everyone he met with kindness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hall Plantation, 102 Stuckey Road, Danville, GA 31017, on March 21, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
