James Chick Chalker, 88, passed away September 20, 2013. He was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he took a position at Florida National Bank; retiring after 35 years of service as a Senior Vice President. His affiliations included the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Glendale Community Church, and he was Chairman of the Federal Reserve of Jacksonville. His favorite past time was cheering on the Florida Gators and all their endeavors. His other passion was traveling; as he visited all 50 states and several different countries. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Iris M. Chalker. And his surviving family includes daughter, Cynthia Chalker Baxter; 4 grandchildren, Cara Baxter Downs, James Boone Baxter, Skye Baxter Lee, Alaina Baxter Lyons; 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
