James M. Devlin, age 83, passed away on December 26, 2015. He was born to the late Rose Devlin and James Devlin, on September 2, 1932 in The Bronx, New York. James moved from St. James, Long Island, New York to Crystal River, Florida in 1995. James is survived by his wife, Adele Devlin; sons, David (Laura) Devlin, Gregg (Elizabeth) Devlin and Paul Devlin; sister, Rosanne Veiga; grandchildren, Christina Henrich, Kelley Devlin, Diane Jansen, James Devlin, Carolyn Devlin; great grandchild, Dalia Jansen. James is preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Henrich and his brother, John Devlin. James served in the U.S. Navy and spent two years on a Destroyer touring the Mediterranean. He enjoyed swimming with manatees, traveling, boating, cruises, and carving. He was full of personality, charisma and loved to make people laugh. He was also the owner of a notable handlebar mustache. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida 32223. Inurnment with military honors will take place at a later date in Jacksonville National Cemetery
