

James Harold Jaxon, 70, passed away after a long battle with lung cancer on Wednesday, January 18th, 2017, at his home in Fruit Cove, Florida. Jim was born in Savannah, Georgia on June 28th, 1946. He graduated high school from Englewood High, and attended college at Jacksonville University where he graduated with a master’s degree in arts and teaching, and received the Nobel Award. He retired from the Duval County school system after 36 years, where he was highly revered and respected for his roles as both teacher and principal. He was an anchor for his family, and the love and security that he emanated will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cynthia Jaxon, and his mother, Rotha Jaxon, as well as his four children, Kimberlee Addison (Brian), Aimee Davidow (Larry), Sarah Hendrix (Lindsey), and Tyler Hendrix (Andrea). He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Drew, Scotti, Piper, Tanner, Hawk, and Jemma, as well as his brothers Kelly (Kathy), Casey (Sarah), Jack, Kevin (Alex), Jamie, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Edward White High School, 1700 Old Middleburg Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32210.
