

He was a native of Louisville, Kentucky and a graduate from Saint Xavier High School. He began his career with CSX Transportation with the Real Estate Department for the Louisville and Nashville railroad and retired as Vice President of Real Estate. In his youth, he was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and raised his children as a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. After raising four children, Jim and Clara (deceased) moved to Jacksonville, Florida with CSX Transportation. On arrival in Jacksonville, they became longtime members of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Jim was a loving father and "granddad". He enjoyed the sun, spending time in their pool and at their condo at Ocean House on Crescent Beach.
He is survived in death by his two sisters Rita Hagan and Patty Jones and his brother Robert Kiesler. Four children: his sons, James Louis Kiesler, Jr. (Wanda) of Indianapolis, IN and Gary Wayne Kiesler (Cherie) of Sarasota, FL; daughters Kay Frances Kiesler of Nashville, TN and Elizabeth Ann Kiesler Poole (Jim) of Houston, TX; six grandchildren Jaime Kiesler, Nick Kiesler, Andy Kiesler, Alex Poole, Claire Poole and Emily Poole, seven great grandchildren Kaitlyn Kiesler, Connor Kiesler, Tyler Kiesler, Juliette Kiesler, Emma Kiesler, Violet Kiesler and Madaline Kiesler and two great-great grandsons Jaxon Milan Delizzo Kiesler and Camden Blake Kiesler.
Services will be held on February 14th, 2025. A visitation will be held at the Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel & Cemetery Legacy Lodge at 4801 San Jose Boulevard in Jacksonville at 12pm with a funeral service to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Jim's name may be made to Community Hospice and Palliative Care, 4266 Sunbeam Rd, Jacksonville, Fl, 32257.
