James Harold Stokes 85 Callahan born September 30, 1922 in Monticello, Minnesota; loving husband and father past away on Friday, April 18, 2008. Affectionately known by his friends as Jim or Poppie, is survived by his loving wife of 63 yrs. Levonia B. Stokes and his 7 children;Miles K. Stokes (Fran), Gene H. Stokes (Charron), Lee Ann Swinford (Jimmie), Penny Blitchington (Harold), Vicki Meeks (Guy), Julie Stringer (Lance), and Shelia Griffin (Chuck) 10 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Jim has resided in the Jacksonville/Callahan areas since 1952. He will truly be missed by all who loved and knew him. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.The family will receive friends 6 pm to 8 pm Monday (TODAY) at the funeral home.
