

TETER: James L. Teter, age 68, departed this life on Thursday, March 19, 2015. He was born in Elkins, West Virginia and raised in Jacksonville. He attended Englewood Elementary and Englewood High School. James is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1966-1968, during the Vietnam era, in the 7th Army 4th Brigade in Stuttgart, Germany. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal and Sharp Shooter medal. He retired with 20 years of civil service at NAS Jax, as an aircraft sheet metal mechanic. James was an active member of the Florida Shark Club, and a member of the Teamsters Local Union 512. His smile and his laughter will be greatly missed.
James was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Suzanne E. L. Teter. He is survived by his son, James McCray Teter; grandson, Aaron Teter; his sister, Grace; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may greet his family on Wednesday, March 25 from 6-8:00pm at Hardage Giddens, The Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 26 at 10:00am at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, with military honors.
