

James E. Yarbrough passed away Tuesday, January 14th, 2025. He was born on March 15th, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and then Florida State University. Preceded in death by: his parents, Gene and Agnes Yarbrough; his wife, Charlotte; and his sister, Nita. James is survived by: his son, Michael, his brother, Ralph, and other relatives. His family, relatives, and friends will miss his loving and caring ways that defined him.
Jim and Charlotte met while attending Florida State University and were married December 28th, 1963. In 1968, their son was born in Savannah, Georgia before they moved to Jacksonville in 1970. James worked for Johnson & Johnson until he retired. Jim was a Master Mason of Riverside Lodge 266 as well as serving in the National Guard. He was also an avid FSU fan and Booster, attending most home games as well as two National Championship games. In 2010, Jim received a transplant in which he would continue to thrive with. His passion towards his transplant team, especially Dr. Daniel Yip, will never waver.
A visitation for James will be held Saturday, January 25th, 2025 form 1pm - 2pm at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge at 4801 San Jose Boulevard Jacksonville, Florida 32207. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2pm at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel and Oaklawn Cemetery at 4801 San Jose Boulevard Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
