A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Jane lived a life defined by compassion, quiet strength, and an unshakable fighting spirit. She was a proud graduate of Englewood High School, where she formed lasting friendships and began shaping the thoughtful, resilient woman she would become.
Jane was known for her resilience, her warmth, and her unwavering love for those closest to her. She had a sharp mind and a flair for detail, which she expressed through her love of shorthand writing. She also enjoyed shopping, especially when it came to finding the perfect purse or pair of shoes—her eye for style was as spirited as she was.
Above all, Jane had a fighting spirit and never gave up. Through every challenge, she faced life with courage, grace, and determination—qualities that inspired everyone around her.
Her son, Charles Lewis of Jacksonville, Florida, was the love of her life and her greatest joy. Their bond was deep and enduring—he was her favorite person, her constant source of pride, and the heart of her world. Jane is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Tracy Cain, who shared in Jane’s life and caregiving with love and devotion.
Jane was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Avon Brazil, and is also survived by her sister, Patricia Stevens of Jacksonville, Florida.
She found delight in life’s simple pleasures—Hershey chocolate bars, the timeless voice of Elvis Presley, and the comfort of familiar routines that brought her peace and happiness.
