Got some of her books at alocal thrift store  and am enjoying some of the works she enjoyed. May she rest well

I first met Janice working at Barnett Bank. I always admired her intelligence and her quick wit. She had a unwavering dedication to her friends and a passion for travel and books. And the Seminoles! Yet I remember just chatting with her about mundane things during our P.E.O. meetings and the friendship we had. I will truly miss her.

Ms. Fluegel was an extraordinary teacher and an amazing person. When I first transfered to Bolles, she helped me feel more comfortable. Her kind gestures and words allowed me to both blossom and thrive. She had such an impact on my life. She was more than just an educator, she was "the Fleegs"

Ms. Fluegel was by far one of the best teachers I had during my time at Bolles. She was engaging, encouraging, and always made learning history fun. She made history relatable, which is no small task. She will be sorely missed by all those that had the pleasure of being in her classes. I certainly owe my appreciation of history to her.

My fondest memory of Ms. Fluegel was when she asked us to do a book report about a book with a historical background. While most of the class chose short 100 to 300 page books, I chose the 800 page classic, The Pillars of the Earth. Rather than suggesting I find a less hefty book, Ms. Fluegel applauded my decision and encouraged me take on the challenge. I am so very grateful she did! 

Janice Fleugel was a teacher for both my children, Eric and Matthew at Bolles. She started at Bolles in 2004, the year my oldest son Eric had her as a teacher. Janice, at one point thought she had made a terrible career choice in teaching young adults. Eric could see the look of frustration in Janice, and he encouraged her to stay the course. She did and the rest is history. She loved teaching and interacting with young people. Janice was a regular at our dinner table over the years because of her connection to Eric and Matthew, a work connection to my late husband Karl and an FSU alumnus. Janice will be missed as a history teacher at Bolles!

Ms. Fluegel's 10th grade history class was my first and most memorable right after transferring to Bolles half way through the school year. She was so fun, positive and engaging. She read loved teaching and connected with us students in a unique way. I don't think I ever had a class that involved as much laughing as that one. She will be missed. 

One of the only teachers out there who made every student feel heard. Each lecture was taught with passion, and she was always readily available to help students with work or personal issues. Her advice will be cherished, and she will never be forgotten. I spent 4 years, everyday, in her room with friends just because we loved being with her that much. We love you Ms. Fluegel! Thanks for letting us call you Janice every now and then! 😂

BOLLES School won’t be the same without Janice. She was passionate about teaching and cared deeply for her students.
My daughter was one of her students and she spent many hours outside of class time visiting “Fleegs” classroom.  Janice inspired her and so many others.
She will be missed by all of us!
