Jean B. Holley

Jean grew up in a tobacco farming family in Nash County, North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her parents, Avery and Beulah Burkhalter; and sister Linda Mooring. In addition she also lost, at birth, twin sons Avery and Henry, as well as her first born, Robert S. Holley, Jr, who died in 1989 at age 29. Life was not fair to Jean Holley!

She graduated from Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC, but she adopted the Florida State University Seminoles when she moved to Tallahassee where she taught fourth grade at Sealey Elementary.

She is survived by her husband of fifty three years, Robert (Bob) Holley.

At her request there will be no services. She is to be cremated and her ashes will be buried at a later date in Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy, FL along with those of the twins, Robert Jr. (Bo) and her husband Bob.

Many thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Apex Companion Care for all of their around the clock love and care for Jean for the past five months. Special thanks as well to the Community Hospice folks who did for her what they do so well during her last weeks.
