He was a member of Friendship Christian church, where he was a deacon and later, an Elder of the church. He and Gail also shared their faith as youth directors for several years. His faith kept him strong and healthy during his forty-five-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was also a boy scout leader and supporter of youth activities. His favorite past times, before his health declined, was golfing and fishing and being with his family. He loved being an engineer and his long career in construction management took him throughout the southeast creating many types of structures and buildings. Even being confined to a wheelchair for 24 years, he still enjoyed his flowers in his garden in the yard. He was still able to enjoy their beauty and appreciate the simple things that God created around him. Services will be held at First Christian Church at 11924 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 at 11:00 am.
