Joan Kaltenbach Harris, 79, passed away on June 3, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her daughter Terry. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert “Bob” Harris, Sr., son Robert, Jr. (Cathy), son John (Tamara), daughter Betsy (Deborah) and two grandchildren T.J. and Heather. She was a longtime active fundraiser for cancer research. In 1987 Joan co-founded and was co-owner of The Liberty Center, the first housing for the homeless in NE Florida. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening. Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, June 7, 2013 at The Oaklawn Chapel with Father Dan Cody officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Hardage-Giddens, The Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Boulevard is serving the family.
