BOWIE – John Bowie, 69, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014. He was born in Jacksonville and was a lifelong dairyman in Dinsmore. Being an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed the outdoors. He was also a member of the Jax Knife Club. He was predeceased by his son, Jim Bowie; his parents, Albert, Jr. and Margaret Bowie and a sister, Ann Millan. His surviving family includes: his wife, Joyce; son, Daniel Bowie; 3 grandchildren, Michael (Anna) Bowie; Jonathan (Christi) Bowie; and Brittney Bowie; 2 great-grandchildren, Levi and Olivia Bowie. He is also survived by his brothers, Albert Bowie, III and Robert Bowie and a sister, Betty (Howard) Burke. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15 , 2014 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave. with Rev. Efton Green officiating.
