

John and his older twin Daniel were born on January 1, 1990 in Columbia South Carolina. John graduated from Chapin High School in 2008. He was a member of the NJROTC where he led the Drum and Bugle Corps. He was a trombonist in the Chapin High School bands. He was a member of the Chapin High School Choirs as a baritone. He attended Francis Marion University and led the Wesley group for three years. He graduated from Newberry College in May of 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Church Leadership with Church Administration Concentration. For a time,
John considered becoming an Elder in the United Methodist Church. He eventually found his true life’s calling working with the homeless in Columbia SC, Asheville NC and Fort Myers Florida. He always saw the humanity in all people. He moved to Jacksonville Florida to work in health care advocacy with Walmart Health followed by Included Health. John was known as a dedicated and tireless worker in every position.
John had a zest for life. John loved horror movies, theology, music, puzzling and traveling. John’s insights, compassion and logic gave a unique perspective for all who loved him. He loved his family dearly talking daily to one or more of his family members. John and sister Katie shared book studies, Centering Prayer and Enneagram discussions. As a child, he loved the outdoors. Hours were spent with his brother, Daniel hiking through the woods, building forts and fishing. John and Daniel continued their love of British Comedy and anything to do with history. He loved talking to Katie’s daughters, Raye and Coco and relished their times together. John and mother Lee enjoyed faith-based discussions, puzzling and daily happenings. John and father Kevin, often talked of world events, food, and upcoming visits. John was a fearless and independent man but yet full of grace and humility when others were near.
John was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, the Revered Joseph Meek Goode and Carolyn Pope Warner of Irmo, South Carolina. He is survived by his paternal grandparents, Ralph and Dona Brasche of Waynesville, North Carolina.
