

Judd (Bo) DuPont Beckwith, 89, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018. Bo was born on August 1, 1928 in Jacksonville, Florida. Bo is survived by his wife of 62 years, Roberta Diane Mansfield Beckwith; his brother, Henry Hopkins Beckwith (Madeleine); his three children, Judd DuPont Beckwith, Jr., Richard Noble Beckwith (Brenda), and Suzanne Beckwith Haley (Kent); five grandchildren, Justin Lee Haley, Lauren Ann Beckwith, Kimberly Haley Hawkins (Michael), Richard Noble Beckwith, Jr., Judd DuPont Beckwith III (Jaquie); two step grandchildren, Victoria Pryor and Taylor Stewart; three great-grandchildren, Brayden Michael Haley, Lucas Nathaniel Haley and Abigail Elizabeth Hawkins.
Bo graduated from Landon High School (1946) and the University of North Carolina with his Bachelors of Arts Degree (1954). He also served as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Korea and Alaska. Bo served as the Executive Vice President at R. B. Baker Construction, Incorporated for many years as well as Chairman of the Board at Tompkins-Beckwith Fire Protection (1988-1991); President/Vice President at Fabco Properties, Incorporated (1988-1991); President/Vice President at Beckwith Associated (1988-1991); President/Treasurer of the Beckwith Group (1988-1991); Chairman of the Board at Tompkins-Beckwith, Incorporated (1988-1991); Chairman of the Board/President of Tompkins-Beckwith Sprinkler Division (1985-1987); Vice Chairman of the Board of Tompkins-Beckwith, Incorporated (1985-1987); Executive Vice President of Tompkins-Beckwith, Incorporated (1979-1985); Vice President/Senior Vice President of Tompkins-Beckwith, Incorporated (1968-1978); Secretary/Assistant Treasurer of Tompkins-Beckwith Sprinkler Division (1979-1985); Vice President/Senior Vice President of Tompkins-Beckwith Sprinkler Division (1968-1978); Home Office Project Manager at Tompkins-Beckwith Sprinkler Division (1962-1967); Estimating/Project Manager Henley–Beckwith, Incorporated and Manager of Division at Henley-Beckwith, Incorporated (1954-1956).
Bo was on the Board of Directors of Memorial Hospital (1974-1976), Treasurer of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (1968), Secretary (1969), and Vice President (1970) and President of the Jacksonville Mechanical Contractors Association (1967-1970).
Bo served as the Tournament Chairman of the Greater Jacksonville Open (GJO) at Deerwood (1974) and served as a Red Coat for Past Chairman’s of the Tournament Players Championship. He served on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville (1971-1972); President of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville (1988-1989), and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was involved with the Chamber of Commerce, YMCA, and Gator Bowl Association and was a Life Member of the Navy League of United States. Bo was also a member of the Seminole Club, University Club, Hidden Hills Country Club, River Club, Epping Forest Yacht Club, San Jose Country Club, a Life Member of the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, and Ye Mystic Revelers. Bo touched the lives of so many and he will be truly missed by all.

Arrangements entrusted to Hardage Giddens Oaklawn Chapel and Cemetery 4801 San Jose Blvd. Jax. Fl. 32207, where a Graveside Service will be held at 11am Tuesday February 6, 2018. A reception and Celebration of “Bo’s” life for family and friends will follow immediately at Oaklawn Chapel.
