Julius attended a Jacksonville area school Al Lewis, after Graduating at 16 years old, he joined the the US ARMY and served 34 years.
During his stay in the military he served in the Vietnam War and toured many countries. Julius was married to his first wife during his stay in Oklahoma and after her demise; he returned to Jacksonville, Florida and rekindled with his first love Johnnie B. Henderson. They were married on 12/21/2001. During this union, they bonded as a family he became a father and grandfather to her children and grandchildren. They were Members of St. Stephen's AME Church where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School, singing in the Choir and being a driver for the church nursery school. He was very dedicated to his church family and was a God fearing man.
Julius was an awesome brother to his siblings. He was a father-figure and Uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Julius was better known as “Uncle Buddy”. He was a father to all, even though he never had children of his own. He was a man you can count on to all who crossed his path. He was a man who had integrity; he was honest and he had morals and strong values. He was a humble man who showed lots of love to everyone.
Julius C. Henderson will always be remembered for his strength of character and his smile.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Johnnie B. Henderson; Children: John Barnes, Julius Lowery (Beth), Anthony Barnes, Carlton Barnes and Sheree Robinson. Grandchildren: Julia Barnes (Tallahassee, FL), Amber Lowery, Kayla Johnson, Kaylha Johnson, Breanna Johnson, and Jeremiah Robinson.
Extended Children: Mary Pennington (Texas) and Miriam Barnes (Tallahassee, FL)
Surviving Siblings: Sylvia Fluckers and James (Eunatee) Henderson (Richmond, VA).
Special Niece: Yvonne Williams, Cue Gail Sampson who assisted with his care.
Special Nephew: Ernest Jaminson.
Brother-in law: John Brunson
Sister-in-law: Ruth Robinson
A host of loving Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Special Friends: Pat McGeathey, Lennis Edwards, Julius Hill, Chris McKenzie.
