June Elizabeth Costello

June Elizabeth Costello passed from this world on October 17, 2014. She was born in Jacksonville to Charles F. Sares and Elizabeth Rodewolt Sares on June 6, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny; daughter, Margaret; brothers, Charles and Thomas Sares; and sister, Margaret Murrey. June is survived by her devoted husband, Mark (Buddy); son, Mark and his wife, Laura; daughter, Sharon Shaffer; son, Timothy; daughter, Kathy Weldy and her husband, Max; son, Sean; daughter, Siobhan Fennelly and her husband, Martin; 26 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mark and June completed a 65-year marathon, crossing the finish line hand-in-hand. Our Mother, a woman of faith and grace, created a warm and remarkable life for her children, grandchildren and extended family. She touched the lives of patients as a long-time registered nurse, and counted among her blessings many loving friends.

Visitation will be held from seven o’clock to eight o’clock in the evening on Friday, October 24 at Hardage-Giddens, The Oaklawn Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at nine-thirty in the morning on Saturday, October 25 at Christ the King Catholic Church, followed by interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
