

Karl Edward Stupski, 60, who was raised and lived most of his life in Jacksonville, passed away August 3rd, 2015. He was born in Meriden, Connecticut the son of Stanley and Elizabeth Stupski. Karl graduated from Terry Parker High School, in 1972, and then went on to earn a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Florida State University in 1976. Upon completion of his accounting degree, he earned his CPA license and went to work for the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. He continued to work in banking regulation for almost forty years in several different capacities including Field Manager and National Bank Examiner. He met his loving wife, Cathy, in 1982 when the two became neighbors in the same apartment complex. They were married on October 5, 1985 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Karl was involved in many activities. Karl became an Eagle Scout in 1970 and was an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 101. He also coached youth basketball for his sons. Karl was active in both Church and community by serving in Church leadership positions and organizing volunteer events. Karl was also an active runner. He completed thirty–one 15k River Runs and two marathons. Karl was also an active FSU alumnus who attended many games. Karl was a long time member of St. Mark's Evangel Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Larry. Karl is survived by his wife, Cathy, his two sons, Eric and Matthew, three brothers, George, Jeff, Tod, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Friday August 7th at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home located at 4115 Hendricks Ave (32207). Services will be held at St. Mark's Evangel Lutheran Church, 3976 Hendricks Ave (32207), on Saturday August 8th at 10:30am.
