

Kim Carl Toeller, age 69, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, December 2, 2023 at Baptist South Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida.
Kim was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 4, 1953. He was raised by his parents Carl Joseph and Shirley Mae Toeller in Lakewood, Ohio, and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1972. Kim married his Highschool Sweetheart Jeannie Sating 1982, while serving in the Navy. He is survived by his wife Jeannie; his son Christopher (daughter in-law Rachel); son Jason; and grandson Christopher Carl (CJ); and his sister Carol Ann Murphy (brother in-law James Patrick Murphy). His deceased siblings are Cathey Ratley, Brent Toeller, and Pauline Milovanovic (survived by brother in-law Rudy Milovanovic).
After graduating from high school, he entered the United States Navy 1973. His first active duty in the Navy was in Cleveland, Ohio as a disbursing clerk. Through his long illustrious and honored 26 Year career, Kim had traveled around the world from Newfoundland, Japan, Jerusalen, Virginia Beach, Cuba and finally retired from NAS Jacksonville, Florida in September 30, 1998. Through his Enlisted Career, Kim rose from E1 Seaman Recruit to E8 Senior Chief.
His Medals were the National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medals, Unit Achievement Award, Coast Guard SOS Ribbon, and Navy Commendation.
His Distinguished Honor was Sailor of the Year while serving at The Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, Virginia in 1988.
A visitation for Kim will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, with a burial to follow at 2:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
