On Saturday, July 3, 2021, Larry William LeBlanc, loving husband, stepfather, and brother passed away at the age of 72 in Jacksonville, Florida. Larry was born on April 3, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late George William LeBlanc, Jr., and Odile Stafford LeBlanc.
Larry grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, a place he always called home. After graduating from the New Orleans Public Schools, he worked in the Federal Government for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Larry later served in the United States Army and fought bravely in the Vietnam War.
When he returned from Vietnam, he joined the U.S. Treasury Department as an Agent before settling into auto sales. He was a salesman in New Orleans, Tennessee, and New York. Finally in 1985 he joined a freight forwarder and customs organization in New York. It was here that Larry discovered his passion, eventually founding his own company, an International Transportation, Logistics and Customs Consultant, LeBlanc Enterprises. Larry owned and operated this company until his death. His clients included PGA, The Golf Channel, NBA, ESPN, CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, QVC among many others.
Larry will also be missed for another one of his passions. His dream was to mentor and support young people who wanted to succeed in a chosen field. He would spend many hours counseling them (over a glass of wine) and encouraging them to never give up on their dreams. He was always available to them when they needed his help. This mentorship was his secondary focus but was always first in his heart. That wise, and sometimes hard counseling will be greatly missed.
This formidable man developed his own personal relationship with God in his adult years and this relationship guided him throughout the remainder of his life. His word was his bond, and he never broke it. He met the love of his life, Linda (Spice)in the Bahamas, and they shared 21 years of love and shared their joys and gifts with others. A great mind for business, Larry was intelligent, charismatic, loyal, funny, and a best friend to many.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Linda LeBlanc, his sister Melanie (Ann) Stafford Stalnaker; stepchildren Gmerice Carter, Gina Banning, Shannon Gray, Jr., and Kevin Jackson; his chosen brothers Henry Chaney and Jules Galbreth; Gail Corley, and other loving relatives and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother Odile Stafford LeBlanc and his father George William LeBlanc; brother Stafford LeBlanc, wife Cynthia Jalloh.
A Celebration of Larry's Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 24th at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hgmandarin.com for the LeBlanc family.
