

Larry M. Lefkowitz, 80, beloved husband of Barbara M. Lefkowitz passed away on May 19, 2013 from Renal failure. He was born and raised in Pittsburg, PA. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, his daughters Leslie Lefkowitz (Chis Schneider), Marti (Benny) Malone, Alisa Ambrose and Randi Rogin, brother of Donald (Rochelle) Lefkowitz, and grandfather of five. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Law School and had a Masters of Public Administration from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. He served as Director of The Pittsburgh Redevelopment Authority which developed low and moderate income housing and later was the Northeastern Regional Director for non profit housing in Washington D.C. Larry and Barbara have lived in Jacksonville for 16 years. In Maryland, he owned an advertising agency and a Mortgage brokerage business. Larry loved boating and was active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Maryland. He was a Flotilla Commander and a boating instructor. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 22nd, at Congregation Ahavath Chesed, 8727 San Jose Blvd (32217), followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetery (King David Section). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Congregation Ahavath Chesed.
