Larry Wade Stanczyk, 84, of Jacksonville, passed away Thursday, May 11 surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth. His legacy lives on through his adoring family; daughters Lori (Augie) Merolle and Leslie Stanczyk, five grandchildren Nicolas (Brittany) Merolle, Joseph Merolle and Jacob Merolle. Katelyn Longley (fiancé Joe Mangefrida), and Kallie(Matthew) Kurth. As well as four great grandchildren Eleanor and Elizabeth Newton, Sydnee Mangefrida and Kanaan Wade Kurth. Larry grew up between Jacksonville, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Hudson Falls, NY where he graduated from Valley High School in 1957. He went on to enlist in the United States Marine Corps in which he served his country for three years and lived out the rest of his life as an embodiment of “Once a Marine, always a Marine.”
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 22nd at noon in the chapel at Corey-Kerlin funeral home, with visitation beginning at 11am. Interment to follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
