Leona Holton Brite Orvin

She married Jimmy Brite on August 6, 1940 in Jacksonville, FL. They had two children, Roslyn and Bob. After Jimmy’s death in 1945, Leona married the love of her life, Pirkle Orvin, on August 23, 1946. They were married for 51 years, until his death in 1997. They had one son, Pat.

During her life she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Leona worked with her son Bob where she managed The Fabric Shop for 17 years, until her retirement. She was a member of Arlington Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Roslyn Williams (Sammy), Bob Brite (Patricia) and Pat Orvin (Donna); grandchildren, Keith Williams (Shari), Michael Williams (Jackie), Rob Brite, Jr. (Kerry), Julie Orvin, Stacie Carithers (Kyle); great grandchildren, Carson and Max Brite.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 10, 2010 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue with Rev. Fred Norman and Rev. Leroy Cutler officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery (Gate 6) will follow. Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
