Leonardo S. Layon

Leonardo Sandoval Layon, 64, passed away on March 10, 2015. He was born on June 5, 1950 in Dinalupihan, Bataan, Philippines to Victoriano and Teodora Sandoval Layon. During his lifetime, Leonardo proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He relocated to Saint Augustine from Billerica, Massachusetts in 2008. Leonardo was a devoted husband, father, and brother and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Layon; sons, Lawrence Layon – Saint Augustine, FL and Lester Layon – Saint Augustine, FL; daughter, Pauline Layon – Brookline, MA; brothers, Resty Layon – American Canyon, California, Armin Layon – Billerica, Massachusetts; Noe Layon – Jacksonville, Florida, Melchor Layon – Brockton, Massachusetts, and Fred Layon – Wilmington, Massachusetts; sisters, Purificacion Bernacki – Saugus, Massachusetts and Encarnacion Bernaldo – Saugus, Massachusetts; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved pets, Victoria, Miley and Bobby.

Leonardo is predeceased by his parents and brothers, Modesto Layon – San Leandro, California and Daniel Layon – Wilmington, Massachusetts.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 19 in St. Joseph’s Historical Church on Loretto Rd.
